Modern, compact, minimalist etc. Back to 2008 Kitchen Design Competition results. Organized by Electrolux ICON and Interior Design Magazine, the $100,000 Kitchen Design contest was geared towards members of the architect & design community in an effort to create out-of-the-box kitchen concepts to meet the changing needs of the modern family. Grand Prize Winner: Marcello Zuffo from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida prevailed with a futuristic design that included movable components that can adapt to the changing needs.

Second Prize Winners: On the second podium were Kim Letven and Nada Bibi, of WE Design in Brooklyn, NY, for their seamless integration of indoor and outdoor space. The design features a wall made of sliding glass doors that allow for easy access to the appliances and living space. Third Prize Winner: The third prize went to Gisue Hariri, of Hariri & Hariri Architecture in New York, NY, for her futuristic kitchen design boasting modern aesthetics and efficient use of space, ideal for today’s multitasking family.
